Meet Our Team
Flash back 15 years ago…Did you see yourself being where you are today?
That’s a great question and I have a great answer. 15 years ago I was at Palmer Chiropractic College, in California, and had an assignment for my philosophy class. The professor asked us to envision where we would like to be in 15 years. I drafted a 10 page paper with every aspect of where I would like to be and how my practice would look. My career did not start out the way I initially envisioned, but once I opened Balance Chiropractic & Wellness, the details of the paper I wrote began to take shape. I can confidently say, the dreams I had as a young student have come to fruition and I now have the practice of my dreams. I love everyone I work with, work on and have the opportunity to learn from. Be careful what you wish for…because what you think about, you bring about!
What motivated you to pursue a degree and certifications in clinical nutrition?
After 12 years as a chiropractor, I grew increasingly concerned about patients presenting with conditions like Diabetes, Autoimmune Diseases, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Cardiovascular Disease, and hormonal imbalances—needs I couldn’t fully address. In 2006, I enrolled in a two-year Master of Science (M.S.) program in Applied Clinical Nutrition, graduating in 2008. That same year, I became a Certified Nutrition Specialist (C.N.S.) and Board-Certified in Clinical Nutrition. As a Science Based Nutrition practitioner, I completed a 6-Module Course from the American Nutrition Association and earned certification as a Ketogenic Nutrition Specialist (C.K.N.S.). I’m committed to ongoing education to better care for my patients, attending seminars on healthcare topics like Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, and Cancer.
What’s it like working with your husband?
Jeff and I have shared many years together. We met the first week of college and haven’t separated since. Once we knew that we were pursuing the fields of chiropractic and psychology in college, we purchased the website name “mindandspine.com”, hoping one day we could work together to improve people’s emotional and physical wellbeing. Many years later our dream became a reality and we are able to collaborate to make the world a better place.
How long have you been working at Balance and how has it changed?
I have been with Dr. Jeff since the beginning…June 13th 2013. It was me, Doc and a laptop! In the years since, we have surpassed all my expectations. We went from Balance Chiropractic & Wellness Center offering Chiropractic only to Balance Wellness Center. We now offer many additional services to provide a complete wellness experience for our patients. Our growth has been monumental, and I am always so overwhelmed by all of the love and positive feedback we get from our patients.
Why is healing the energy body important for physical well being?
Everything that we come in contact with has an affect on our energy field. We also store emotional trauma in our auric field. If left unacknowledged, these issues can manifest into physical pain and even illness. By addressing these imbalances through reiki, sound healing and crystal therapy you can realign the energy body which in turn heals the physical body.
How long have you been an Acupuncturist and what have you gained over the years?
I have been a Licensed Acupuncturist for over 20 years! I have gained a deep appreciation for the complexities of the healing process, and I like to think I have gained some humility in being able to be a channel of help and healing for the people I serve.
As an acupuncturist, how has this practice helped you connect with patients on their wellness journeys, and what do you love most about it?
Acupuncture has provided me with a deeper understanding on how to best support people on their wellness journeys by focusing on how we can become more embodied and empowered in our everyday lives. Whether someone is in acute or chronic pain or feels like they can’t catch a break, I enjoy providing a space for people to slow down and relax. What I love most about helping people find balance and relief through acupuncture is watching the transformation of when they first walk through the door versus when they leave. You can sense the joy and ease that they experience after a good treatment.
What excites you most about combining patient care with the healing and balance yoga brings to their wellness journey at Balance Wellness?
What excites me most about my job at Balance Wellness as a patient care coordinator and yoga instructor is first and foremost the amazing people I get to work with. I feel deeply aligned with the practice's mission, which mirrors my own beliefs in holistic health and wellness. It is fulfilling to work in a space where compassionate relationships are built with patients, ensuring they feel not just treated but genuinely cared for by all of the staff. I am empowered to combine my passion of patient care with the healing gift of yoga, hoping to help others find the same peace it has brought me.
What do you enjoy most about being a Health Coach, and how do you feel your work impacts the lives of the people you help?
The impact my work as a health coach makes is my favorite part about what I do. When my clients come to me they are struggling and feeling lost, unsure what to do next or if their goals are even possible for them but because of the personalized approach I take, my clients feel supported, less alone and more sure of how to proceed in a way that fits their unique lifestyle and personality. I love seeing their confidence grow as we work together and they make strides towards the tomorrows they envision.
What do you enjoy most about being a key part of keeping our practice running efficiently and helping create a positive environment for patients and staff alike?
It's wonderful to be part of a team dedicated to patient care. Helping everything run efficiently allows them to give each patient the attention they deserve, which is the best part of my job. I truly enjoy making the practice a place where patients feel cared for and relaxed. Keeping things organized and running well means more time and attention for each patient, and that’s something I’m proud to support!
